Your Membership:
Being a member of the WCSC provides access to club flying sites. But, there’s so much more than that. The club’s critical functions include administering site tenures, building relationships with landowners and local municipalities to preserve our launches and landings, improving existing sites and developing new ones, mentoring new pilots, hosting awesome events, and promoting safety, to name a few… In short, we’re stronger together!
Not a current member, or you need to renew? Please renew or join before the AGM if you’d like to have a vote.
Agenda Items & Bylaw Changes
Any members that have items to add to the agenda are asked to email their submission to James Elliott no later than Friday, December 11, 2020.
We are putting forward some bylaw changes to be voted on at this year’s AGM. See summaries and links to the right (or below). The changes are intended to fix legal uncertainties, protect the membership, the club’s assets, and to strengthen our governance and accountability moving forward.
Please read the resolution PDFs and contact us with any questions or concerns AHEAD of the AGM to make the meeting go smoother.
2020 Special Resolution 1
Clarifies membership eligibility and requirements, codifies existing practices and conventions such as membership levels and reciprocal agreements with other clubs, and restricts some powers of the board (e.g. expelling members) to prevent abuse.
2020 Special Resolution 2
Clarifies electoral procedures and the various definitions used in the bylaws, and better protects the society’s tenures from potential neglect and abuse.
2020 Special Resolution 3
Ensures that members who are local or who choose to pay full membership fees remain in control of the society and its assets. Restricts temporary / visitor / guest members from voting at general meetings.

Please note: For voting purposes, each person in a household needs to RSVP individually.
