Memberships

We’re Online!

We now process all membership applications and renewals online. You can fill out your application, complete your eWaiver, and pay for your membership electronically. This new system adds security and speed to the application/renewal process. Grouse Mountain memberships have unique application requirements, and cannot be processed through this new online system. For Grouse Mtn, please read more about it in the Membership Levels below.

Membership Levels

We welcome hang gliding and paragliding pilots of all levels, and from all over the world! As such, we’ve tried to create our membership levels to accommodate a variety of needs including regular members, student pilots, youth, visiting pilots, and site-specific sub memberships (like Grouse Mountain). Use the tabs below to find which membership level applies to you. In the event that there is a discrepancy between information on the website, and the membership levels and fees in the Society’s bylaws, the information presented in bylaws or AGM Minutes are the correct version. Also, note that the WCSC region is defined as the Lower Mainland + Sea to Sky + Pemberton + Vancouver Island.

Please note: No matter what kind of membership you choose, all pilots are required to fill out and submit an eWaiver. All members are required to have a current HPAC membership.

Where membership fees go

There is a long laundry list of activities the Directors and volunteers do to benefit WCSC members. But specifically, here’s a shortlist of what we do as a club.

  • Work with landowners, all levels of government, and private organizations to secure access to launches and landing zones (including tenure applications)
  • Maintain launches, landing zones, and help keep access roads in questionnably decent shape
  • Facilitate reserve repack clinics and other training opportunities (like Wilderness First Aid Training)
  • Organize events, fly-ins, and competitions to keep us all social and connected
  • Connect pilots in our region with the larger Provincial, National and International free flight community
  • Provide the opportunity for mentorship of all levels of pilots
