Vehicle Parking for Woodside

Post by the other martin »

There are several changes in terms of parking if you are flying Woodside.

1. Paraglider pilots should land at Riverside only. The hang glider field is for hang gliders and tandem paraglider flights.

2. The property at Woodside Inn (which we call the Kettle) is off limits. The owner has had a change of heart in the past year and no longer wants vehicles parked on her property either in front of the building nor along the side of the building. It is important to note this also includes stopping in the parking lot to load or unload. I realize some people may find it difficult to accept seeing they want to stop 'for just a minute' but please respect the owner's wishes.

3. All vehicles should now park against the fence. Pull as far forward as possible. Your vehicle will now be on private property that belongs to Sheila. Last thing we need is for Sheila to be contacted by the Kettle owner complaining about us.

4. Also do not block the driveway that enters Sheila's property. They actively use that driveway. Once again they are kind enough to allow us to park on their property.

5. If all the spots are taken then drive down the road and you will see an open area. Park there. The road is access for the District of Kent. They need the road open to drive down to the water treatment plant. Do not block the road.

6. There are usually parking spots across the highway where the atv crowd parks.

If you are not following the parking restrictions don't be surprised if someone approaches you and explains the changes. There will be a learning curve for the next few weeks. Life is good.

Thank you.

I also talk to Sheila, and she is open to let people park on her Yard for a FEE, it has to be negotiated with her directly, and she will tell you on what spot to park, you can arrange for a season spot
Please be very respectful and cordial with Sheila, she is already helping us a lot.

If you park on the highway near the HG landing, just look for the parking signs, they are there.

Yes, is ok, plus along the road going down to the LZ, just make sure the road is clear.

We will be doing some clearing of the bushes to maximise parking space.
