Etrex or Geko cable

I have a cable for connecting the Garmin GPS's models like Geko and older Etrex's. The connector is a rectangular slide on shape on the GPS side and a normal USB on the computer side. It was shortened for travelling, works fine. You need a prolific driver for your computer. Free to a good home. Sorr...

Hi Pilots, I did a ride up Vedder awhile back. I had my first HG flights from here and was also interested in seeing what potential it might still have. The ever gentle Martin does point out the problems with flying there. I too remember it being cross, not ridge soarable and a bit stable most of th...

Realized this thread didn't have the web address for the 2013 Willi.

http://thewillixc.com/

The early registration deadline is this coming Sat, Jun 15th. Sign up and pay by then and you have a chance to win a Spot and the entry is $80 instead of $100.

Ah the fineprint! Overflew launch but no top landing. And your moving goalpost of needing to drive your car down is very wiley. I think your Scotch will stay "safe" in your hands for awhile. Guess i get nothing. A glass of ice tea at the Sasquatch maybe : ) Fun flight. Got stuck in shade i...

Ihor I'd just get fairly small snowshoes. By spring the snow is usually pretty compacted. Smaller are easier to walk and pack. As mentioned by Gsmurf packing the crampons facing together is a good idea. And then maybe wrapping in your glider bag. Can't you suspend them in the airbag? Hate things out...

Very interesting Martin. Good on these guys for this.
Like the idea of an electric self launching soaring vehicle.
Love to hear more about this project.

Coupe Icare and general euro flying

Hello Vancouver pilots. Sounds like a great spell of weather for the fall there. I'm travelling in France now, and for the last few weeks Nicole joined me. Some good flights in Annecy, Chamonix, and at the Coupe Icare in St Hilaire. You don't really expect to fly much at the Coupe Icare especially o...

I hope the rain will encourage folks to come out this Saturday. Doesn't look like we will be distracted by blue skies! My intention is to talk about what I have learned from 20 years of flying and XC in the Fraser Valley and Pemberton. There are a lot of good general guidelines for where to fly and ...

We can't attack the blackberries enough. It's an ongoing battle and Dion is right we have often been way behind them. Not so bad if you spot land in the nice areas but if you miss it's tangle city. A resident mowing machine sounds like we might be able to keep up a bit. Hope we can find a suitable m...

DHV test report on pod harnesses

This was just in German until recently. Now that it is in English it's a little more useful for us mono linguists. http://www.dhv.de/web/en/safety/articles-statistics/pod-harness-test/ Quite thorough with video as well. Make sure you have practiced your deployments with your reserve. Don't just do a...

Work party thanks

Just reading about all the work parties, and want to say thanks. From the folks who organized to the ones who showed up in the rain. Pemby upper, Riverside blackberry control, Woodside fabric, and the Bridal road. It's really amazing what we get done and I think the $50 for the WCSC is the best deal...

Ah yes Peter turning off the layers and then checking them individually helps. Thanks. Not sure about what to do about the altitude box though. So this is my current info below. Can anyone help with the heights over Bridal and Bear eastwards? Alex 1100' = Kent CYR 1500' =Mission CYR 1500' =Transpond...
