Liability commercial tandems

Post by ORAVA Corinne »

WAIVER curiosity :

-How many waivers do you make your client sign up before going on a tandem flights?
-Does every commercial operation holds a commercial driving license and insurance to drive clients up to launch ?
(So vehicle insurance through ICBC covers travel in motor vehicles for paid clients)

We have had this signed last year (non operational this year yet):

-HPAC waiver
-Company waiver
-WCSC waiver ( to "protect" the launch sites and much more )

What about the personnal name of the pilot on the waiver for flights accomplished by a different instructor not named on the company waiver?

Just curious to see what other company in BC deal with. to compare...
Thank you !!!

I just have one waiver that names: HPAC, myself and any associates, and "all land owners".

I'm not sure why you need a separate waiver for every entity.

Amir,

I learned in my latest tandem recertification that what you do is not allowed. HPAC requires that you use the HPAC waiver (as a requirement of their insurers). Pretty much makes sense: imagine you wrote something legally invalid...

I have my passengers sign my personal waiver, WCSC waiver, and HPAC waiver...

Andrew,

I've had my lawyer take the wording from the HPAC waiver, then add a few extra sentences and then name everyone on the same waiver.

And just to correct the terminology , there are no commercial tandems in Canada . They are instructional flights . Just thought I'd throw that one into the mix . :)
