The 10th annual Lumby Air Races for Hang Gliders and Paragliders were held in conjunction with Lumby Days again this year. The event was stretched to 7 days. Many good racing flights around the Lumby Valley were made by the pilots who came to race. Distance and times were measured by GPS. The Lumby AirForce would also like to thank all the vollunteers and especially The Lumby Days Society, Area D director Rick Fairbairn and Super A for their continued support of the event. Terry and Jackie Butcher created a great Greek dinner and the awards party was well attended.
The season long Lumby Air Race runs till the end of Sept. and so far $500.00 cash is up for grabs for any new local National and world records in the 10km 25km 50km and 100km FAI closed triangle race for PG and HG.
The Canadian National Hang Gliding Championships will be hosted by the Lumby Air Force at the Freedom Flight Park near Lumby June 27th-July 4th 2015 and new local, national and International triangle racing records are expected to be broken.
