Repack spring 2019

I got a message from WCSC about repack at the old Burnaby Village museum.
I assume this is for paragliders mainly.

Has an HG specific group repack been planned yet anywhere?

Re: Can Hang Gliding be saved?

Peco... I disagree, Beginner hang glider models do fly themselves. The pilot does not have to hold the control bar while in trim flight. The glider will fly itself. "A beginner PG can learn and feel the wing flying and supporting him even before their feet ever leave the ground Not so easy in a HG" ...

Re: Tandem glider failure to hook in passenger

I remember while learning HG years ago they also did tandems . One of the things they ALWAYS did was did a hang check with both participants hooked in before launching, someone holding the nose, and both participants lying prone, hanging, full weight on the hang strap(s). This was required every lau...

Re: Can Hang Gliding be saved?

Hang gliding.... I love it. Belly down, head first, it's the way , insects, bats, squirrels, birds, certain snakes and fish, and super heroes do it. It is the "natural way" to fly, IF you are not in an airplane of course. OK, all kidding aside. I see the lack of instructors as one reason for the dec...

Re: Bridal Falls/Archibald Gondola Proposal

Interesting.

Someone mentioned a while back that the road to upper launch seemed to be "open" again.
Related?

I also want to ask,...
Will a proper LZ be in the works as well?
This would be a necessity if they plan to use the site to include PG and HG usage.

Zippers for Harness???

Hi, thanks for reading. Last time I used my harness I noticed that the zipper is about to quit. I have a Z5 harness (HG) that needs a new internal zipper, for the storage compartment between the pilot and the back of the harness. Would anyone know of a place close to Vancouver that sells a zipper lo...

Re: sounding chart / rasp ?

On the TJ rasp page: I see meters per second along the top of the pink/orange/red/etc graph. I see pressure (millibar) down the left side. I got Time PDT along the bottom, amd along the right side I see altitude in feet. Perhaps the pressure along the left side correlates with the altitude along the...

Yeah, I have seen these sorts of wind diagrams.
But my education is a bit lacking.
I only have a B.Sc. I can't figure them out.

Re: sounding chart / rasp ?

Thanks Philibis. I saved the 2nd link, it works. I tried the link for the changes... timed out. One thing I notice might be different, the pressure (Y axis) seems to be a wider range than what I remember. The result is all the data I am interested is scrunched into the bottom centimeter of the plot....

sounding chart / rasp ?

I used to go to this site and get some sort of graph that told me if the air was going up or not. (layman's terms). http://rucsoundings.noaa.gov/plot_soundings.cgi?data_source=Op40;latest=latest;start_year=2009;start_month_name=Apr;start_mday=23;start_hour=22;start_min=0;n_hrs=3.0;airport=cyxx;plot=...
